MY PROCESS
I’m Charles Barton. I’ve been playing instruments most of my life and I love recording and producing. I’ll record synths, guitar, violin, clarinet, flute — whatever a record needs. I started collecting synthesizers about 20 years ago and it’s been one of my favorite sounds to bring to a song. I combine raw recording with digital instruments, sampling, field recordings, and a whole suite of audio plugins to make a record.
I do not use AI generated recordings. My passion is producing the sounds myself. I record, sample, sequence, and use both analog and digital instruments to dial in the feel of the song. I’ll work with you on each song and iterate on the arrangement and mix until it’s right. For me, it’s about the process and doing what the song needs, not just selling artists some stems.
And I know it’s not usually enough to just have a good song, so I offer my skills in video production and software too.
